Move: Everything becomes natural

This article is dedicated to everyone,

who is afraid of changes

and especially to those who believe

that they won’t get used to it.

Recently, everyone talks about naturalism. We want women to stop wearing makeup because they are more beautiful like that. We want people to be serious because it’s more natural than craziness. We want others to keep going with whatever tears them down just because the change can be even worse. We want…Do we really? Maybe we’re just afraid. We’re afraid that the stressful period before the change comes won’t have the end. However, is this what naturalism really is about?

What I would like to address?

Can you remember your first kiss? Or maybe the first kiss with the person next to which you’re sitting right now after a year? That moment when it was about to happen. The intensely beating heart, shaking stomach and shaking hands. Such an amount of stress for such a natural thing. Despite that, you thought that you’d never get used to it. Not with that person. And now? You don’t even remember how many times you kissed today. It became completely normal. Natural. Though, I don’t want to talk only about relationships. It is said that time can heal everything. In this case, it is able to do much more. The time can change what seems to be unalterable.

Is ti always like that?

Almost. Of course, there are situations in life we’ll never get used to, such as pain. It doesn’t matter whether we are talking about mental or physical. If a close person betrays you, or you trip over the edge of the shelf with your pinkie (yes, this hurts like hell 😫), it always hurts the same way. Notwithstanding, somehow most of the things in life become natural. In other words, we get used to them.

Is it right?

This is part that everyone should answer by themselves. Indeed, I think that we should be careful in relationships (both with friends and partners) once you get to that stage. Often it happens that someone is being hurt for a long period of time and they can’t or even don’t want to end it anymore. Why? Because it became ‘normal’. However, it is important to realise that this kind of naturalism can become dangerous very easily.

On the other hand, when someone is alone for a long time, it also, to some extent, becomes part of him. Suddenly it’s difficult to go outside their comfort zone and to make an effort to talk to others. This isn’t a solution either. Interaction with other human beings is very, very important for your mental health.

A short ‘mindfulness’ exercise:

Now think. What is natural for you? Do you have it? And now go deeper and try to find out if it’s comforting or you’re drowning. Ok, now try to imagine that it would change. What would it be like? What puts you away from such a change? Is it the opinion of others, or only your lack of belief in the correctness of your own decisions?

Trust me…trust yourself more!
